At the very beginning of the 13th century, the two great states of Central Asia, the Khwarezmshahs and the Mongols, met near the Irghiz River due to the rebellion that broke out in the Kara-Khitay State, which they wanted to dominate. Sultan Alaaddin and Genghis Khan were saved from the brink of a devastating war as a result of meticulous diplomatic relations.

However, despite the peace achieved with great efforts after a few months, the trade caravan coming from Mongolia was detained in Otrar, one of the border cities of the country of Khwarezm, by Governor İnalcık on the grounds that they were spies. The revelation of what happened in Otrar turned the plans of the two states, whose peace had just been renewed, upside down. Thereupon, the Mongol emperor launched the great invasion.

Celaleddin, who took over the responsibility of a state that was about to disappear from his father, found himself on the verge of a great war of existence against Genghis Khan, the most powerful ruler of the known world. But he would not hesitate to jump into this fight that many people would not want to take on.
